Shopping Gone Bad!

Have you ever been locked out of a changing room? Well, I have and I'm going to share my experience with you. A few weeks ago I was shopping with a friend and I was feeling great about my selections. I must of have had about six items I wanted to try on. So, my friend (who also had clothes to try on) and me went to the changing room to begin trying on our outfits. I put on my first choice and looked great. I walked out of the changing room to get a better look at myself. You know, the big mirror they have outside of the changing rooms. Just when I walked out of my room, the door slammed behind me. No worries I thought, I'll just ask the sales woman to open it for me. Wouldn't you know the same thing happened to me four times. I guess the excitement of shopping made me forget to put something to hold the door open. The fourth time I asked the sales lady for help she gave me a nasty look and gave a little hiss. O.K. so I was trying on my last ensemble and guess what? I locked myself out of my changing room again. I didn't want to bother the sales lady again after the look she just gave me. So, after a few seconds contemplating I decided my only option was to crawl under the the dressing room to get back in. Yea, I made a fool out of myself, but it worked. When shopping remember to check the door behind you.

Five Steps to being a Successful Shopper

I know I'm not the only woman who loves to shop. However, I know it can be very discouraging. I can not begin to tell you how many times I have gone out shopping and have been unsuccessful. I would spend hours searching for shirts, jeans, etc. To find myself going home empty handed. Part of me wanted to give up and shop on line, but lets be real shopping on line takes all the fun out of SHOPPING, and I probably would have been worse off. I realized that in order to be able to enjoy my shopping experince I needed to learn what worked for me and what didn't. I'm going to list five steps that might make your shopping experince more interesting, fun, and managable.
One thing that I always stress is the importance of trying on clothes. It may be a pain, but it's more annoying to purchase an item, and to then go home and realize it doesn't fit. Now you have to take more time out of your schedule to bring that item back, what a waste. The more I tried clothes on the more I learned what worked and what did't work.
Second, shop with people who you have fun with who enjoy shopping. The experince will be a lot more fun if your surrounded by someone you can laugh with.
Third, don't be afraid to look through the racks. In order to find things you like you have to put in the work and go through the racks. Don't be afraid to visit the sales rack. You may have to spend more time looking and the racks may be messy. However, you will be surprised by what you find and how much money you save.
Fourth, if you are shopping with a friend, ask for their advice and see what he or she may say. They could be wrong or right, but sometimes people can see things we can not see for ourselves, BUT don't allow yourself to become completely influenced by your friend. There may be a moment when you like an item that your friend may not. If you like it, get it! It can always be returned if you change your mind.
O.K. my last step,be adventurous. Try on clothes you wouldn't normally try on. You may be surprised and find a piece that really works for you.
Well, I hope these steps help. Get out there, and let me know how it goes.
